About Us

Alice Beretta, DVM

Alice Beretta’s interest  in horses began when her family moved to Lavonia, GA in 1987.  They bought their first horse in 1988 and soon after, their lives revolved around the horses!  Dr Cato and Dr Bowen from Royston Animal Hospital further fueled her interest in veterinary medicine.  She graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelors in science in 1998 and was accepted to the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine.  After graduating with her doctorate of veterinary medicine in 2002, Dr Beretta practiced in two equine referral practices around Charleston, SC.  Dr Beretta then moved back to Lavonia in January 2007 and started her own practice, Beretta Equine Veterinary services.

Beretta Equine Veterinary Services' mission is to achieve client satisfaction by providing excellent medical care as well as prompt response to emergencies.  We strive to enhance equine wellness education in order to minimize preventable diseases and emergency situations.
